About the forum

This forum is an offspring to the original Q875 discussion forum started by Joey Dieckmann some five years ago. The original forum was dedicated to discussing the so-called "day after tape", the tape which carries the serial number Q875 in the FBI catalogue.

After a while the forum transformed itself into the Peoples Temple Discussion Forum which was dedicated to discussion of all things related to Peoples Temple and Jonestown. In the spring of 2010 our host at the free forum service lost all of our content.

So...in order to secure a stable service I decided to take matters into my own hands and start a new forum.

While this forum remains independent it does collaborate closely with the Jonestown Institute which runs the website Alternative Considerations of Jonestown and Peoples Temple http://jonestown.sdsu.edu/.
For the last four years I have transscribed primary sources for the Alternative Considerations website and I have written articles for the Jonestown Report. This year I had my debut as co-editor of the Jonestown Report.

This means that our approach to exploring Peoples Temple and Jonestown are similar to that of the Jonestown Institute: We hope that visitors to the forum will come away with an understanding that the story of Jonestown did not start or end on 18 November 1978.

In the forum we welcome diverse views and opinions but we require members to be respectful in their posts - both towards fellow members and towards all former members of Peoples Temple.
